Personal Grant Beneficiary Eligibility
A grant beneficiary will have to meet the following criteria:
The individual MUST be a survivor of GBV.
They should either be a woman, youth or a person living with disabilities.
They should show cause for the need for support action/benefits. For instance, the effects of GBV should be proven or seen.
They should be incapable of supporting themselves
In cases where no direct physical bodily harm has been presented, the potential beneficiary should provide evidence for GBV such as police report/OB number or/and witness statement etc.
They should be a resident of the 10 project Counties.
Minors, caregivers and legal custodians
In cases where the victim of GBV is a minor i.e. below the age of 18 years, a caregiver or legal custodian may be given the minor’s grant support benefit upon proof of custodianship.
The below criteria may be used to determine a caregiver and/or legal custodian:
Should not be a minor i.e. should be over 18 years old.
Should show evidence of taking care and living with the minor. This may be through witness statements and/or police reports.
Should be able to provide details on how he/she is related to the minor.
Each individual may benefit ONCE from the grant to a maximum of Kes. 15,000.
Loan Beneficiary Eligibility
Be a survivor of GBV
They should either be a woman, youth or person with disabilities.
They should show cause for the need for support action/benefits. For instance, the effects of GBV should be proven or seen.
They should be incapable of supporting themselves.
Trade-in a business other than those listed under annexure 8 – list of disqualified business activities by MCF.
They should show cause on the need for financial support and its impact on their business. For instance, the effects of GBV should be proven or seen to have affected their business.
There should have evidence of past trading activities.
Applicants are identified & referred to the lending bank by the 3 implementing partners (CREAW, CCGD or GROOTS Kenya as per the respective counties).
Must receive mandatory entrepreneurship training.
